UNA phosphoramidites employ standard base protecting groups and are compatible with automated nucleic acid synthesis using standard conditions for DNA and RNA synthesis. Stepwise coupling yields >99% are obtained. Standard conditions for DNA or RNA synthesis are used for deprotection and purification of UNA oligonucleotides.
